SD MEMORY CARD

Hi there i recently got the lg renoir however the phone does not seem to be recognising my 8g memory card at all, any help please?

hmmm odd
*have you have inserted it (looking at the screen) with the contacts side facing away from you so you can see the brand name? (this is the correct way)
*does the screen show a microSD icon between the sound profile and battery level icons?
*what brand of microSD is it? I have a SanDisk (good brand) 2GB and it's fine, getting 8GB on xmas so I hope mine works!
*It's definately an microSD card and not the other kind? (MicroM2 or something? these just came out and are the same size but slightly different shape)
*Have you formatted the card at all since you got it? on what?

Hi yeah it is a sandisk mgb micro sd car and came with the phone, it is inserted correctly although the little icon at the top of the screen does not come on, it does however show when the wifi is switched on for some reason. When i use my old sd card from an old phone that works fine and the icon always appears when inserting or taking out. Havent formatted the card unsure how to do that.

You can format the card by going to main screen>Blue Dice Button>Settings/cog button in the bottom right>Phone settings>Memory Manager>External memory>format at the bottom there.

Thanks for that but the external memory button is greyed out, think it must be a defective card i will have to take it back to the shop where i got the phone from, its inserted properly and for some reason the icon only shows when the wifi is on, wierd. My other old card works fine and the icon always comes up when inserted with or without wifi on. Strange.
