[during this process your phone will show 'no network' instead of your network's name on screen, dont worry, it will go back to normal when you turn it off and on again at the end, it's the same as having no SIM card in it]
Ok, I take it you have connected your PC and renoir before and have therefore installed the driver?
First start by getting this program pack
www.freewebs.com/gearu/Renoirtools.rar (credit to Yoshihiro)
And stick the 4 files somewhere handy.
Then get
www.freewebs.com/gearu/keylock.rar (credit to a person named Spooky)
And put the 2 image files (.swf and .jpg) somewhere else handy [you don't need to copy the readme, but it may help if you get lost].
1) Connect the Renoir to the PC and choose PC Suite mode (you dont need PC suite installed, in fact LG have told everyone not to install PC suite because viruses get in it/are in it, or something).
2) Run LGMDP_OPEN.exe and choose Tools>Service Programming from the top and click 'Read From Phone', and a new little window will pop up, It should be able to regonize/find your phone is connected to a USB port, if nothing shows then you need a different LGMDP program, as there are a 3 or 4 different ones, let me know and I will find the others to try.
If you see your phone listed, then choose it and click 'Connect', Then exit the LGMDP program altogether.
3) Run EFSTOOL_RC2.exe and click EFS Files Explorer up the top, after this you will see the phones top folders, the bottom half of the window shows files on your PC.
Double click the folders LGAPP>Media>swf and here you will see a file called keyLock.swf, use the bottom half of the window to go to your desktop or somewhere handy, make a new folder and then go in it, then look in the top window again and lick keyLock.swf once, then click the 'Read' button - This will make a backup copy of the original .swf file should you want to change it, or should something go wrong, in the new folder you just made.
Then click on the keyLock.swf in the top window area and delete it (delete key like any other file)
4) Then use the bottom window to find the 'handy' place you put the keyLock.swf and keyback.jpg from the .rar you downloaded before.
*At this point the top half of the window should still be in LGAPP>Media>swf, and the bottom half in the folder or area you put the 2 files just mentioned.
Highlight both files in the bottom half and click the 'Write' button.
So you've gone into the LGAPP>Media>swf, made a copy of the original keyLock.swf, deleted the one on the phone, then written in a replacement keyLock.swf plus the keyback.jpg file.
5) You can now click the [X] in the top right, after which it will ask you if you want to restart your phone, choose yes to do it now, or no if you'd rather disconnect it first, then switch it off, then back on.
I choose no so I can then disconnect the phone and switch it off and on manually, cause otherwise it goes into charge mode straight away as soon as you click yes and then I lose time trying to turn it back on again while it loads and stops charge mode after I unplug it.
If all goes well, when you lock the screen you should see the slider plus a tree image for a background, this is keyback.jpg, which you can substitute with any .jpg image that is exactly the same size of 400 tall by 240 wide, if it's not exact then you will see a mess of colours or something worse (I imagine).
